Jimi John is a Panjim, Goa–based lawyer specializing in arbitration, maritime, and commercial law, dividing her time between Goa and Mumbai. Her practice spans domestic and cross-border disputes, shipping contracts, and complex commercial transactions.
She acts as both counsel and arbitrator in matters involving charterparty disputes, demurrage and laytime claims, shipbuilding contracts, marine insurance, and a broad range of commercial agreements. Jimi’s commercial practice also extends to advisory and dispute resolution work in the infrastructure, logistics, and trade sectors, including contract negotiation, enforcement, and regulatory compliance.
Her arbitration experience covers both ad hoc and institutional frameworks, including LMAA, SCMA, DIAC, MCIA, and ICA. A Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb), she is empanelled with several leading arbitral institutions globally.
